Stuff on My Cat, Knitter Style

One of my favorite sites in Stuff on My Cat because I enjoy putting stuff on my cat because she just does not care. Fred stuck a box of envelopes on her earlier and she just laid down so they wouldn't fall off. I had the idea that the Tribble scrubbies would make a perfect kitty pillow and a dishcloth would make a perfect blanket. Well, here's what we ended up with:

She was awake when I put everything on her, then she laid down. 20 minutes later she is still asleep with them all on top of her. What a silly kitty. I think our other cat is looking to disown her for caving so easily to "The Man."

November is Finish-My-WIPs-Month!

I finished my sweater! And my nephew's sweater! And my sister-in law's sweater! And a new purse for me! Hooray! I miss my nice camera. I had to ship everything out to be cleaned and I have no idea when I will get the body back. Just lenses trickling back in so far.

First, a very bad picture of my sweater, it's hard to take a pic of your own butt when you can't find a tripod.

Sweater for sis. I really like how it looks on me, quite frankly. She'll be lucky if she gets it. Kidding, I had her try it on before I seamed to make sure it fits. She knows it's coming.

Ben wearing his new sweater while holding my purse! He's such a cutie!

And to be fair, here is the other nephew holding my purse, too.

Crap!

I screwed up my Green Gable hoodie and made one arm of my cable look like this:

Instead of matching the other arm that looks like this:

It may be hard to see in the photo, but I put the gap between the 2nd and 3rd cable on the first sleeve, when it should be between the 3rd and 4th. The only explanation I have for doing this is that I was working without my chart in the car. It was right after my cousin died (I finished the sleeve on my way to my uncle's house, actually) and I needed something to distract myself and now I know to stick to dishcloths and simple socks when is duress.

So now I have to tear it out, which isn't a huge deal but I had just gotten the sleeves attached to the body, so now I have to tear out at least a couple of inches on the body and other sleeve, too. Bah!

Huzzah!

I did it! I successfully completed the Ravelympics! 5 pairs of mittens, all done! They aren't the fanciest mittens, but they will do the job.

Mittens for Connor

Mittens for Benji

Mittens for Wil

Mittens for Fred

Mittens for ME!

So now, having knit 5 pairs of mittens, reorganized my closet, and straightened my hair I am having a rare celebratory glass of wine and watching the closing ceremonies.

Cheers!
(Please note to Ravelympics lapel pin.)

Ravelympics!

I was a little worried in the beginning, but now I have two pairs of mittens down, one pair to felt, one mitten finished on the 4th pair! Only 3.2 mittens left! Since I have at least one FO I am officially a Ravelympics Medalist!

Knitting Olympics!

Ravelympics have started! I am representing Team Pejorative Epithet in the Mitten Medley. I have one mitten for Ben (nephew 1) done and the second halfway. So I have 4.5 pairs left. But I will have small gifts for Connor (nephew 2), Wil, Fred, and Ben when I am done. I'm watching the opening ceremonies because the story on NPR made me curious. I feel all guilty with the human rights issues and stuff but Yemen walked out with bagpipes. Bagpipes! Not the most traditional of Yemen instruments. Idk, idk, maybe I am the only person who finds that fantactically funny.

Also, Michelle, you got me addicted to Project Runway, so thanks for that, I needed to be watching more TV. However, it is perfect for knitting.

ETA:

Your result for The Harry Potter Husband Test...

Mrs. Dumbledore

You like 'em powerful and brilliant. And why not? A guy like this, you can have intelligent conversation with, laugh with, and you know he can protect you. Sure, he may have a weakness for power, but he's got that under control. And sure, he let his sister die, but he learned from that. And sure, he harbors a secret, forbidden love for a man widely known to be his mortal enemy, but...well, no, that's actually a pretty big obstacle. Good luck with that.

*shudder* That picture is truly disturbing. And huge.

X-Files! Hooray!

I feel like I should have more than one entry.

We are doing inventory at the store right now and I have been so busy with that and so tired from it when I get home that I have gotten no knitting done. I worked a little on the handles of a felted bag yesterday in the car, but that is it. My extended family is in town and we went to a teeny tiny casino in Pinconning. I lost $5, it was very sad. However, I purchased my tickets for a midnight showing of the X-Files on Friday! It seemed like July was so far away, but here it is! Just days away now!
